Opportunity (Full-Time): Senior International Capability Development Subject Matter Expert (SME) – J3-I Interoperability Branch

Bottom Line Up Front: Hoplite Group is seeking three (3) Senior International Capability Development SMEs to support the Directorate of Operations, J3-International (J3-I) Division at U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). This role supports interoperability efforts with partner nation SOF through capability development, multinational coordination, interoperability assessments, and integration into SOF training, exercises, and planning activities.

Location: On-site support at HQ USSOCOM, MacDill AFB, FL, with CONUS and OCONUS travel as required in support of the SOF enterprise.

Availability: September 2026 / Contingent Upon Contract Award

Objective: Support USSOCOM J3-International (J3-I) interoperability efforts by assisting with partner nation SOF capability development, interoperability planning, multinational coordination, and participation in SOF training, education, exercises, and capability development activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a U.S. SOF component selection and assessment program such as the U.S. Army Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC), Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S), or another SOF component equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following:
    • Completion of a formal program of instruction from a Department of Defense training organization covering the basic tenets of U.S. Security Cooperation (examples include Defense Acquisition University, Joint Special Operations University, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, or U.S. Army/U.S. Navy Special Warfare courses); or
    • Operational experience working with international military forces (joint combined exchange training, joint exercises, or joint combined operations such as Afghanistan or Iraq); or
    • Assignment to an international military organization or coordination center, such as Joint Staff J7 or a Combatant Command staff organization working with international partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and through international SOF partners.
  • 15 years combined military SOF and regional experience working special operations conducted in a joint, combined, and interagency environment.
  • Graduate of a Joint Professional Military Education course, Intermediate Development Course, or Senior Professional Military Education Course.
  • Current DoW Secret clearance and eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • Experience with Foreign Disclosure and working with international partner information exchanges.
