Title: Logistics Subject Matter Experts (SME)

Overview: The Hoplite Group is seeking 2 Logistics SME positions to support the continued development and implementation of the Theater Maintenance Partnership Initiative (TMPI).  TMPI seeks to build partner capacity to improve equipment readiness of U.S. defense articles through developing Maintenance Communities of Excellence in selected SOUTHCOM Partner Nations.


Requirements: Ideal candidates will possess knowledge to leverage and integrate TMPI related actions within HQ USSOUTHCOM and across the security cooperation enterprise, including Department of Defense (DOD), Department of State (DOS), Defense Security Cooperation Agency, and USSOUTHCOM Component Commands.
 
  • Reside within daily commuting distance of USSOUTHCOM Headquarters.
  • Regional experience in the area of responsibility (Caribbean, Central and South America).
  • Foreign language skills appropriate to the region (at least Spanish 2/2).
  • Ability to travel on official business frequently.
  • DoD Secret Clearance is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in increasing levels of leadership and staff responsibility in DoD, DoS, or other major government organization.
  • Staff experience with a U.S. or Allied Headquarters, the Joint or Service HQ Staff, a Combatant Command (includes U.S. Country Teams) or one of its supporting service components, or other relevant COCOM. 
  • Experience in working with allied, coalition, or partner nations related to security cooperation efforts and knowledge of and experience with security cooperation authorities, policies, processes, procedures, and resources.
  • Experience in defense security cooperation logistics functional areas, program management, partner nation land, air or maritime forces capacity and capability development, strategic planning and execution of operational concepts and missions including ground sea and air operations, and knowledge of DoD weapons systems life cycle management.
  • Experience and understanding of partner nation institutional level equipment maintenance and readiness challenges, supply chain management and effectiveness, and experience with DoD defense articles sourcing, delivery, and sustainment.
  • Experience in interacting with civilian or military representatives of security or defense organizations of foreign nations at the operational and strategic levels.
  • Understanding of Title 10 and Title 22 security cooperation and foreign assistance authorities.
