Opportunity: Website Designer
Bottom Line Up Front: Hoplite Group is seeking a Website Designer to support contracted services for the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Public Affairs Directorate (CCPA). This contract will include executing communication strategies and ensuring accurate, timely information to U.S. and regional audiences. It will employ digital tools to monitor, collect, translate, and analyze traditional and social media across CENTCOM’s 21-nation area of responsibility, supporting senior leader decision-making, correcting misinformation, and aiding counter-propaganda efforts. Services will include strategic communication planning, media engagement, crisis response, training, and quality assurance. The Website Designer will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and updates of the CENTCOM public-facing website (www.centcom.mil). This role ensures the website’s functionality, usability, and security are maintained at the highest standards, working closely with the Social Media Manager,Multimedia Content Creator, and other key personnel to meet the organization’s needs.
Location: The primary place of performance is at HQ CENTCOM, MacDill AFB. Other anticipated work may include TBD locations within the Continental United States (CONUS) or at locations within the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility. Continuity of Operations: As specified by the Command’s COOP instruction and as determined by the CCPA Director, be prepared to deploy toalternate site COOP locations to support the headquarters response to an imminent threat or in response to an emergency (e.g., natural disasters).
Level of Effort: Full-time
Availability: Anticipate Spring-Summer 2026 start date. Personnel will be expected to be present from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. Situations may require extended hours of operations, to include military exercises, contingency operations, or weather emergencies.

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the CENTCOM website, ensuring content is up-to-date, well-organized, and easily accessible.
- Post content, create new pages, and develop CMS templates as needed to reflect changes in CENTCOM’s strategic priorities.
- Troubleshoot and enhance the performance, functionality, and reliability of the website to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Design & User Experience:
- Develop website design mockups that align with the organization’s branding and functional needs, including layout, color schemes, typography, and overall style.
- Ensure the website’s design is responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms for optimal user interaction.
- Create and implement user-friendly UI elements such as navigation menus, buttons, forms, and interactive features to improve usability.
- Organize content to ensure ease of navigation, providing clear and intuitive access to key information.
- Ensure integration of CENTCOM branding across all website elements, including logos, color palettes, and fonts.
- Cross-Browser Compatibility & Security:
- Conduct thorough browser testing to ensure the website performs consistently across various browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
- Maintain compliance with DoD and CENTCOM security protocols, collaborating with the CENTCOM J6 Directorate as needed.
- Monitor and ensure security compliance for both English and foreign language platforms.
- Social Media & Content Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Social Media Manager and Multimedia Content Creator to ensure seamless integration of website content with social media efforts.
- Create content for the CENTCOM website that aligns with DoD requirements and policies, ensuring consistency and accuracy in messaging.
- Testing & Continuous Improvement:
- Test website functionality regularly and recommend improvements to enhance performance, user experience, and engagement.
- Ensure smooth transitions of seasonal or event-based content on the website, including timely updates and removals.
- Emergency Support:
- Provide 24/7 support for urgent website issues or updates, including troubleshooting and maintenance during off-hours when necessary.
- Website Design Mockups: Create detailed design mockups for new projects, including layout, color scheme, typography,and overall visual style for review by leadership and stakeholders.
- Responsive Design: Ensure the website’s design is fully responsive, adapting seamlessly to various screen sizes and devices, including desktops, tablets, and mobiles.
- User Interface (UI) Elements: Design and implement user-friendly UI elements such as menus, buttons, forms, and interactive features to enhance the website's functionality and usability.
- Content Layout & Structure: Develop a logical content layout and structure that organizes information clearly, facilitatingeasy access to important content. This includes defining the placement of text, images, and multimedia.
- Branding Integration: Ensure the website’s design aligns with CENTCOM’s brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in logos, color palette, and other branding elements throughout the site.
- User Experience (UX) Optimization: Implement best practices in UX design to improve user satisfaction, including clear navigation paths, intuitive interactions, and efficient information retrieval.
- Cross-Browser Compatibility: Test and verify that the website functions as intended across multiple web browsers, ensuring a consistent user experience.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Be available to troubleshoot and maintain the CENTCOM public-facing website (centcom.mil) as required, ensuring the website operates effectively and meets organizational needs.

- Stakeholder Engagement: engage with external stakeholders to exchange information, collaborate on analysis efforts, and build partnerships for mutual benefit.
- Legal and Ethical Compliance: ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards governing the collection and use ofpublicly and commercially available information, including privacy laws and intellectual property rights.
- Training and Development: provide training to colleagues on effective methods for gathering and analyzing publicly and commercially available information or contribute to the development of best practices within the organization.
- Crisis Response: During crisis situations or emergencies, provide real-time updates and analysis to support decision-making and response efforts.
- Quality Assurance: ensure the accuracy, relevance, and reliability of the information analyzed, employing rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of data integrity.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Security Requirements: Must have a minimum SECRET clearance prior to Contract award.
- At least 5 years of experience in website design and maintenance, with proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and CMS platforms.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include Adobe Certified Expert, Google Analytics, and Certified Usability Analyst.
- Strong understanding of DoD-approved digital and social media platforms.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and providing emergency support for websites.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in responsive web design, content management, and user experience optimization.
